Description
Imagine a world where you can play musical notes and sounds of nature simply by touching the objects that surround you. Instead of traditional musical instruments, you have the power to create sound from paintings and geometric shapes. You can turn floating 3D models in the environment into playable instruments. The experience encourages mindful listening, creation and presence in individuals as well.
At Performance and XR 2023, the audience gathered in this 3D virtual space to explore and interact with the project. The installation brought together strangers, represented by their avatars, to collaborate and co-create music. I aimed to create a calming audio-visual installation that the audience could engage with virtually and collaboratively.
I enjoy creating collaboration-based projects where multiple people can interact with the installation simultaneously, forming new shared experiences. In this project, the audience had the opportunity to collaborate, play virtual musical instruments, and generate calming sounds as a group.
The feedback received from the audience was positive; they mentioned that interacting with the virtual instruments and being immersed in the 3D space was both calming and enjoyable.
